San Diego County home values dropped 0.8% from August to September — a worse performance than the 0.6% drop of the largest 20 cities, according to Standard & Poor's/Case-Shiller data released this morning (Nov. 29). San Diego values were down 5.4% from the same period of 2010, worse than the 20-city index's drop of 3.5% year over year. Many economists expect further declines of U.S. home values. San Diego residential values are now down 38.5% from their peak in November of 2005.

I'm all for this! As a future buyer, the cheaper the better.

Prices peaked at ridiculous levels. The decline, large as it is, could be healthy for the overall economy. However, the prices could go lower. Best, Don Bauder
