Robbery suspect caught for Tijuana police

prayers
no our fathers
hail marys
simply simple
pleas ,
for as i grow
old
of mind and bones
give me
a strength of soul
above all
and lest
i fall
for a moment
guide me towards
a shoulder
to rest
simple pleas
sincerely ,
all that i am
now and then

One of these days, you are going to win the monthly blog contest for one of your poems depicting the streets of San Diego--it will happen now that fiction won, I have no doubt. Just keep writing and posting and bust us through that wall. Your last few poems have changed (in voice?) yet again. Think Nan mentioned it a few posts ago...just an awesome unfolding it's been, reading you over this past year. Seriously. Its been quite inspiring and --an honor really--to witness. So thanks for sharing your writing and yourself with us here on the poetry blog at the Reader--when you could just as easily chose to grace some other publication. You and the other creative writers here make the Reader a better place--in my opinion.
