country jack

a story

he won't bother

telling

you or me

city of hustle

cards and crack

sweetness of grime

father missing

full moon

one last crime

bronx mamma

eventually lost

too

soon

daily dose

streets of pity

no more

off to hayseeds

grandparents farm

cows chickens stringbeans and corn

learn new ways

no highways

different kind of tough

love

reborn

grew into those

overalls

marry

a mary

a son and daughter

that street life

strife

from so long ago

not sure

he's the owner

hidden away

but not buried

under a few

blue moons

in a mason jar

no fear

or tears

bled

knowing

instead

never going back

thankful

god

put him here
