i ain't no scientist

not even an astrologist

but i see stars every night

and know them by name

a welcome sight

bright

sometimes i see a rocket ship , too

lost up there

don't dare ask why

top secret

you know from long ago

just like to stand

gaze

through my day's haze

it's ok to stare

look up

wondering

declare

sometimes with a slow nod , yes

other times

faster

side to side bewilderment

brilliance

not so far away

a voice of profound knowledge

greater than all my troubles

not so hidden

in my dark sky

promises of good fortune

for me and others i love

twinkling

cute

teasingly...

reminders of tomorrow's possibilities

ok

for me to sleep

deep

rest for my next days

travels on foot and mind

wonderous happenings

not to be taken in small doses

even if sunshine doesn't come

don't let showers

or a few rain drops

ruin your stay

toss away

the overcoat

let those drops find you

drink them

to satisfy today's thirst

and

hold onto some

for future flowers
