Taste of Little Italy
Taste of Little Italy begins tonight at 5 p.m. This self-guided walking tour allows residents and visitors of San Diego to literally get a taste of a variety of restaurants in a district. If you've ever been to another Taste event, this works in the same way. Tickets must be purchased online and exchanged for a tasting passport at the kiosk at the corner of Columbia and Ivy in North Little Italy (2210 Columbia St).
Here are a couple of restaurant bite highlights. Puerto La Boca Argentinian Restaurant (2060 India St) will be serving skirt steak, Argentinian chorizo sausage and a sample of Pascual Toso Malbec wine. UnderBelly (750 W Fir St) will cook up shrimp gyoza filled with shitake mushrooms, asparagus and scallions. Anthology (1337 India St) will offer bites of local halibut crudo on brioche toast with fresh fava bean pesto. Other venues will offer wine and beer as well as desserts, too. Blues guitarist Robin Henkel and British singer and songwriter Dave Humphries will play live music at the event. Tickets cost $40.
