Sunday 9/21- NFL/Pepsi PPK Competition

For Immediate Release: September 21, 2008

The Camp of Champions, El Cajon Valley High School Braves and the San Diego Chargers to Host NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass & Kick Competition this Sunday.

Special guest: former NFL star - Kicker Michael Husted

El Cajon, CA – Young pro football fans will have the opportunity to exhibit their football skills when the Camp of Champions teams up with the El Cajon Valley High School football team and the San Diego Chargers to host this years NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass & Kick competition this Sunday at El Cajon Valley Stadium.

The Camp of Champions is honored to have been chosen by the NFL and Pepsi to host the Punt, Pass & Kick competition for the second consecutive year. This event has had a number of NFL players compete, including top former quarterbacks such as Dan Marino and Drew Bledsoe and this years local competition will feature legendary kicker Michael Husted. Mr. Husted has agreed to come talk to the kids and give them a few tips for the competition.

The NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass & Kick competition allows youngsters to showcase their talents in punting, passing and kicking with scores based on distance and accuracy. The competition is free and open to boys and girls ages 8 – 15.

It will be this Sunday September 21, 2008 at the El Cajon Valley Stadium starting with registration at 8:30 a.m.

The top finishers from each of eight age groups will advance to a Sectional competition. The winners at the Sectionals will have their scores compared with other section champions and the top five scorers from the pool of sectional champions will advance to the Team Championship to be held at Qualcomm Stadium.
