The IRS. What a bunch of idiots.
I get a letter from them saying that I owe another $983 in taxes. With a few bucks interest.
Okay, scratch that. My tax lady, she's an idiot.
I sent them the check a few days later.
So, a few weeks goes by. I see the check has been cashed. And, I get a letter from the IRS that says they won't be sending me that $600 check that everyone is being given. They'll just apply it to the $983 I owe.
First, why couldn't they have told me that when they said I owed $983? I would've just sent $383. Second, I already paid that money.
Of course, when I called the number on the notice, I was on hold for 15 minutes before I finally hung up.
I figure everyone is calling about their $600 and other things this time of year.
I'm just not going to worry about it. If I get the $600, cool. If I don't, next time I do taxes, they'll get $600 less.
