So, I went to the House of Blues tonight to see The Jam. Or, two of the three members of The Jam. I met a woman who had driven down from L.A. for the show (I thought that was a far distance to go, until she told me she flew to Rome to see them).

When the subject of Heath Ledgers death came up, she said "Is it bad of me to think this? I was just happy he finished his role in Batman, so it doesn't delay the release of that movie. I'm looking forward to it."

I then thought about a Best Buy, which made the news nationally. I think it was here in San Diego. But, they had a table set up with some of Ledger's DVDs. It said something along the lines of "There's no better way to show your respect for Heath Ledger, then through his movies." And, they had prices for various ones.

I'm waiting for the grocery store to do that with Heath candy bars.

But, the strangest, was this church, which I believe is in Texas. They said that he died, because of his role in Brokeback Mountain, and how that was God punishing him for playing a homosexual.

How hard is it for religious nut jobs to get it thru their heads, that God (if there is a God), doesn't punish people this way? Aside from it just being a crappy God that would do such a thing...it logically doesn't make sense. I mean, why not his co-star Jake? Or better yet, Ang Lee? He's the one that got the picture made.

What about any other film roles, where people portrayed gay characters? George Carlin in Prince of Tides; Phillip Seymour Hoffman in Boogie Nights; Robin Williams played one in The Birdcage. All still alive, and kicking (some with Oscars).

And, if God wanted to punish anyone, why not punish Robin Williams? He cheated on his wife, with his nanny. He then married the nanny (who he is still with, I believe). And, he was sued by a woman that claimed he gave her herpes.

Believe me, I'd love nothing more than a God that would strike actors down for their career choices. I just saw First Sunday yesterdat. It's the worst movie I've seen in years.

As funny as Tracy Morgan is...this would be a role that God could surely take him out for doing.
