7 Days of Creation

On the first day of creation, God created the dog.

Image

On the second day, God created man to serve his dog protector

On the third day, God created all the animals of the earth (especially the horse) to serve as potential food for the dog.

On the fourth day, God created honest toil so that man could labor for the good of the dog.

On the fifth day, God created the tennis ball so that the dog might or might not retrieve it.

On the sixth day, God created veterinary science to keep the dog healthy and the man broke.

On the seventh day, God tried to rest, but He had to walk the dog.

i'm sorry kitty ladies..but DOGS RULE u know...at least that's what they tell me

Sweet cat poem, nan, by which you have redeemed yourself ;) Just like I don't dig the whole man/woman joke thing, I've never understood why there must be a gender or any line drawn in the sand over cats and dogs. I love both, and live quite happily that way. Dogs do not make one any more masculine than do monster trucks, btw--and a love of cats does not somehow emasculate the cat lover...;)

Didn't know nanners needed redeeming ...

Blessings to all on this beautiful Sunday morning! :)

Very funny, CF and AG!!! Daniels, my husband came with a cat and it was a deal sealer for me. Any guy who loves animals and does not categorize them based on crap like guys love dogs/girls love cats stereotypes is an out of the gate mate for life.

Nan, my sister's rabbits used to love to "mate" with her kids stuffed animals. Those bunnies are ANIMALS!!!

"Any guy who loves animals and does not categorize them based on crap like guys love dogs/girls love cats stereotypes is an out of the gate mate for life."

Yup. Cat-hating men are bad news. They usually don't really like women much, either. You can pretty much count on the cat-hating male to be a controller.

"Me say you sit, YOU SIT!!!"

cat walks away

All this dog/cat talk reminds me of my favorite Gary Larson cartoon.

I guess you can only post images when you post a blog. Anyway, it's the, "What we say to dogs/cats and what they hear," cartoon. Maybe I'll post it with the next Tundra.

Quillpena

hi catty friend..i just copied and pasted the link into my browser and Voila!!!

nan shartel March 29, 2010 @ 1:56 p.m.

Ms Grant...we play who's best dogs or cats on my Canada link all the time

it's a lighthearted one upsmanship game perhaps best suited for those who live in the great white north who's favorite past time is saying the worst possible thing to each other...kinda like Bill Murray's "he will not be missed" speech in Stripes

I've been royally regaled with the funniest cat and dog jokes for nearly 5 years now...and I've jumped the fence of loyalty many times as to which pet is most impressive...all in the name of fun

always the dog lovers ...which includes myself...are very respectful to the legitimate feeling of adoration folks have for their cats

as are the cat lovers for the massive attachment folks have to their dogs

i have had both and care fondly about each...as an attention seeking *hore however i guess i'd have to like dogs a lot...hahahahahahahahahaha....and Persian cats who have no use for anyone and simply exist to look "beautiful"

i had a comic strip in my little town in Oregon about my cat Pippi (an Abyssinian) and my dog Handsome (a Queenland Heeler)

he was a born cat wrangler and took her on long protected walks down Main Street

they were the talk of our small town..but he(Handsome)insisted it wasn't a "LOVE MATCH" but only a kittysitting job

~~i didn't believe a word of that~~

antiG...do u have a dog or a cat or both???

0

nan shartel March 29, 2010 @ 2:06 p.m.

glad u don't sit antiG....hahahahahahaha...i don't know..i do have a love me love my dog/cat attitude

and i wonder about anyone who doesn't like animals in general..perhaps that's unfair

but my dearest friends have massive affection for dogs or cats or both

that's why i like all of u so much

Thanks, nan. That cartoon just kills me.

While I have enormous use for critters of the canine persuasion, alas, my cats harbor none. I get my doggie fix with our neighbor's extra-large lab. She and I go for twice-weekly long walks, much to my cats' disgust.

Re #25: It's Le Kitteh pictured in my avatar, nanners. That would be Miss Olivia, who is nestled comfortably on my lap as I type this with hands that 'should' be petting her, as far as she's concerned.

:)

Cuddles...for 3 years i had a(i must now admit it)DOG BLOG...which was ever so popular over at Bravenet...another Canadian site...we animal antics lovers had ever so much fun becoming the voices of our pets

as a fantasy writer in general with a rough and ready terrier(Rdog)i was constantly lying my way thru all sorts of adventures

one Christmas we had a dog sledding event to a dearest friend in Alberta...the main sled dog was a Malamute who in fact in REAL LIFE died during this imaginary excursion

til this very day i could kick myself because i didn't save that thread...the touching tributes to DANGER DOG as he was called were more then anyone could bare...i cried as if i'd known that dog literally

Danger Dog was our main sled dog in the fantasy...and each dog behind him felt far to humbled by his noble leadership to take his place and mush

suddenly something unreal became REAL....like the "Velveteen Rabbit"...because the owners grief about her REAL dog was so great

in our imaginations we laid him to rest in the Canadian Rockies...with all the promp due to a old dog who had set out to do his unfinching best for all the DOG lovers at Bravenet and reach his goal...brave and weary from the long ordeal he laid his head in his masters lap and put down his DANGER mantle for another dog to pick up and wear

believe it or not we named a star for him in the Sirius constellation...and got enuff money together for his owner to purchase a DANGER DOG2

i was humbled by such an outpouring for a dog...a dog none of us had ever seen ..petted or known

~~i know i'm crazy~~but it's a nice kind of crazy~~and all of us who went mushing with Danger Dog that Christmas have been the best of friends in cyberspace ever since~*~
