Appeals court reinstates discrimination case against Ace Parking

There's an Avengers banner ad above the exits at Edwards Mira Mesa. It's something to see, if only because it's really, really big. But I was much more touched by this homemade display at the ticket booth in Reading Grossmont. Hulk's ripped shorts, Hawkeye's arrows, Black Widow's venom darts, Thor's hammer, Captain America's shield, and Iron Man schematics from Stark Industries. Something tells me that none of this was sent out by the studio. Positively heartwarming, like the dioramas in Community.

I love that Reading is keeping this personal touch of ballyhoo alive. Jennifer Deering and her crew do something similar at the Town Square and I think there's even a piece of staff art at the Gaslamp. I mention it in my upcoming "Reader" cover story, "The 10 Best Place to Watch a Movie in San Diego" coming to a newsstand near you on May 17.
