Trailer Reviews: Nicolas Cage Gets Paid

Nicolas Cage has had his share of financial troubles - remember when he had to sell this fabulous house? So now, instead of wondrous Cage insanities like Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call: New Orleans, we get phone-it-ins like Seeking Justice, which is, even at this early juncture, a contender for the laziest movie of 2012. Let's take a look.

From the iTunes trailer page:

Wow. Diagonal tilt? Check. Black and white with red accent? Check. Steven Seagal-level title? Check. Painfully obvious tagline? Check. Though it should be noted that the tagline reads slightly differently in the trailer itself:

Laziness, or a sly commentary on the tricky relation between justice and vengeance? You be the judge! But whatever your answer, there is no question in my mind that this is the laziest fake-newspaper article ever mocked up and stuck in a movie trailer:

Also hilarious: this bit of product placement for Nokia, the preferred brand of dudes who want to kidnap January Jones and put duct tape over her mouth:

And in a true "what the hell, a couple of corn dogs" bit of random inclusion, here is Guy Pearce firing a gun, except slowed down enough so that we can see the bullet? (That's it in front of the pillar.)

Sigh. Let's all hope that the second Ghost Rider movie does really really well, so that Cage can get back to the crazy.
