Reader stringer Ken Harrison notes the closing of UltraStar's four-plex at Flower Hill Mall. Now, he writes, "North County residents between south Carlsbad and Carmel Valley will be without a multiplex movie theater." Dark times.
Speaking of dark times, The Boston Globe's film critic Ty Burr takes note of a troubling trend: theaters using 3D lenses to show 2D films, resulting in a darker, lousier picture. Movies...now more than ever!
