Update San Diego, 5/10/2011
Fallbrook Valley Center can not grow avocados anymore, the water is too expensive to water the trees. So what do they do, cut them down and sell them as firewood. It takes some 4 or more years to start from seed to bareing tree, so even if the price of water comes down as I have seen the State say will be able to give you 80%+ of the needed water now, with the wet winter we had. The truth is that America can't make it anymore in California with the compitition from Mexico and South American farmers. There was a time when the U.S. could feed the World, now it can not even feed it's self. Ref: San Diego Union-Tribune, 5/911 pp A1 I see Arnold Schwaizenegger and Maria Sheiver are terminating their marriage. Maybe Maria should move to Greece or Turkey and join the Roman Catholic Eastern Rite Church and spend the rest of her life in a convent as a nun!.
