You know, I have been reading a lot about the problems we have at the border, so I got my passport, went there and wow, it's like a different world. Oh, not Mexico...I meant LA.

There's nothing like contrast to appreciate what you have, and fortunately for us here in San Diego, we have LA. Los Angeles, CA is one of the biggest cities in the world. Complete with crime, pollution, and congestion.

San Diego on the other hand, closes at 10 on weeknights and our idea of a traffic jam is trying to turn left on Mira Mesa Blvd.

Los Angeles has LAX, we have Lindberg field They have smog, we have hang gliders. They have Hollywood, we have Torrey Pines They have Sean Penn, we don't.

I'm not trying to minimize us. To the contrary. The real difference between San Diego and LA is the feel, and that's hard to describe. To paraphrase Einstein, sitting next a beautiful woman for five minutes and sitting next to a porta potty for five minutes is not the same five minutes. Well, that's how I see us...as that beautiful girl. And LA...well, did someone forget to flush?
