San Diego Reader

From now on, I'm going to post all of my problems on the Reader website to see if anyone out there in cyberland will solve them. Last week, I posted that I thought my computer had a virus, and lo and behold, an old friend that reads my blog contacted me about coming out to my place to fix the problem.

I wasn't sure he was serious, after all, why would he do that? We haven't seen each other in a couple of years, and I made no promises about giving him anything in return.

He showed up and not only fixed my desktop, he helped me connect my new e-reader and even let me choose one of two laptops so I can go to the library to write and not put up with the many distractions around my house.

His help was a nice surprise. I haven't gotten a break in a while and his generosity was very much appreciated. It's great having an IT guy around the house.

Thank you, RJ, and be safe on your trip. I wish the situation was different for us.
