Waiting for the White Stuff
Up on the mountain, we are waiting for the big one. Snow storm, that is. We had a teaser a couple of weeks ago and it got us all excited. Snowball wars are on when we get coated in white. Then, the news crews show and then come the tourists. It is like a holiday every time it snows and we are ready.
If you come up the hill, don't miss Apple Alley's Caramel Pecan Pie and try the cherry and Mountain Berry pies at Julian Pie Company.
Also, follow the signs to the gold mine tour. It is a fascinating piece of history and ask for Tony to be your guide. He gives a great tour.
We also have so many artists and local artisans including native Americans who produce handmade items and jewelry that are really inspiring.
There are also Pagans, Wiccans and Lemurians here-all of whom I did not know existed before I moved here 4 years ago. Now, they are my neighbors. Enough from this Odessa, Texas Baptist before I spill all the secrets from above 4000 ft.
