Update: Beautiful Jessie has come home! And: What we learned about lost/found animals
Dear readers Where do I begin… It’s hard to describe the unbelievable ride that my cat Jessie and I have been through the past 3 weeks. I found incredible support from complete strangers, including many of the readers of this blog. So many prayers, suggestions, and words of hope. When she went missing, I did everything I could think of to get the word out that she was gone. I cried so much, I couldn’t stop. I can’t describe the dark place I was in. My poor family and friends had to suffer watching me go through this. Jessie had been my friend and comfort through the good times and the bad for nearly 14 years. Life was horrible not knowing what had become of her. I tortured me, I could not sleep. She was found by an office worker 2 blocks away, who handed her over to a veterinary hospital 20 miles away, then a cat rescue league took her so she could be adopted out. I can’t believe I was a day away from never finding her again. Through a reader of this blog, and incredible email trail began that jogged someone’s memory at the rescue house. I got that amazing call and she was returned to me. I have been overwhelmed with joy. The world is sunny again. Thank you all so much for your kind words of support and encouragement and any help you extended in her recovery. I did not expect this from people I did not know. It’s a miracle.
