Senate Committee Lashes Bridgepoint Education
Ah, but the point is the heads of Bridgepoint have made there money. If they get caught now they don't care, they cashed out already. No one is going to jail...they almost never do and my guess is their business model had a life cycle so they knew there would be an end but didn't care because they would be long gone.— August 1, 2012 7:21 p.m.
Senate Committee Lashes Bridgepoint Education
From the begining their business plan was to profit from the lax oversight of the government and the huge $s the feds make available for student loans. The result: students are saddled with imposible debt and the corporate leaders and investors walk away with huge returns...and it's all legal! This truly has become the "American Way".— August 1, 2012 9:05 a.m.
Firm Predicts Second Wave of County Foreclosures
Inflation is just around the corner. Interest rates will climb, and then where will prices head...down.— July 26, 2012 9:30 p.m.
Creation of a Monster, John Gardner
Would it be responsible reporting to name names as to who the psychiatrist were that did nothing.— June 27, 2012 9:49 p.m.
Could Imperial Valley Become Owens Valley?
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. We all know the story of how the Army accidentally turned a dry lake bed into the Salton Sea. And the Imperial Valley was a desert. There are no good guys here. It's "BIG AG" vs "BIG DEV". and yes the ratepayers will take it in the shorts.— June 20, 2012 8:31 a.m.
Eating at Small Bar
I agree with you, killer booze, ok food. I found when they first opened and had a little more extensive menu (including some pasta) it was better. When I ask the barkeep once why they tightened up the menu she said the food costs were too high. My main beef with the place is the one unisex bathroom. I mean the place gets packed.— May 30, 2012 6:08 p.m.
Utilities Commission Employees Want Investigation of Simon
A stupid blunder on the part of Mr Simon and his gal pal or maybe like some politicos they are just out of touch enough to think it doesn't matter. It probably won't amount to anything as the general public has very little say.— May 11, 2012 6 p.m.
UT, Orange County Register Will Join Forces, Says Lynch
I really don't think it means that much anymore because no one reads the papers but to think the only daily print media in SOCAL will now be controled by Pond Scum drifted to the right by the breath of developers is disconcerting.— May 9, 2012 5:42 p.m.
UT, Orange County Register Will Join Forces, Says Lynch
Could not have said it better.— May 9, 2012 5:25 p.m.
Timothy Alan Simon: Commissioner with a Past
Judge Bushey should recuse herself from the case, but even if she doesn't it could work in the consumers favor as an obvious conflict of interest would hopefully lead to a host of lawsuits.— April 25, 2012 10:40 a.m.
