San Diego Unified Looks to Sell Properties
The bit about "a lot adjacent to Barnard Elementary School" was an error introduced during editing. (Sorry, Dorian!) Whether or not the vacant lot next to Barnard is for sale is unknown.— May 7, 2012 5:30 p.m.
Second Annual San Diego World Naked Bike Ride
No, Parrothead. I went along with the decision after a Google search yielded more hits w/o the apostrophe (Banker's: 424,000 results; Bankers: 1,290,000 results). Just trying to give the people what they want. After further thought, Banker's seemed wrong — no single banker ever owned the entire neighborhood/hill. So, I justified the change that way also. If you search Bankers' Hill, you get the same 1,290,000 results. Why don't we opt for that spelling with the relocated apostrophe? Bankers Hill was where many bankers resided back when, so the plural possessive is most appropriate. But, enough inter-office emails had been sent around on this issue and we had reached a consensus that would save us a keystroke. No need to waste more time on an apostrophe...I'll keep going if you want, though!— June 10, 2011 1:38 p.m.

I'll meet ya up the trail russl
Ode to a Proofreader Netless, further from fretless that’s what we’ve become. Russ Lewis has left us, now we’re bereft of our eagle-eyed East County chum. When the participles dangle about when the Crue goes without an umlaut when it’s obvious no one pulled out the Gregg manual... when our shameful typos are there on your lap think of the man who would’ve caught them — Russ Lewis...he really did give a crap— February 26, 2011 6:20 p.m.
