If you want to meet him, take a jaunt over to Macy's Mission Valley (1555 Camino de La Reina) on Saturday, 11/7 at 2PM. He and Ron Oliver are having a celebration over the release of Flying Pans. They'll be offering wine and hors d'oeuvres. And Chef Bernard is very approachable and a really, really nice guy. Be sure to bring a few cans of food as your admission ticket, though. Macy's and Chef Bernard have been doing cooking classes and events like this in order to benefit the San Diego Food Bank -- which is, as you might imagine, rather stressed these days.— November 6, 2009 11:51 p.m.
