Bicycle Tune-Ups
I've used Mission Hills Bike Shop for everything from a spoke replacement to installing a new crank set -- this shop is quality and the mechanics that work there are pro. Prices are fair and the entire staff is extremely knowledgeable. Highly recommended. Richard La China (lachina)— December 30, 2011 9:17 a.m.
Rob Deez -- The Bicycle Song (Live @ Lestat's)
This song is AWESOME! Great work Rob Deez! Richard La China (lachina)— December 29, 2011 8:49 a.m.
Tijuana Bike Ride
Sign me up! Please tell me the ride includes fish tacos! I just did a solo TJ ride, not for the weak hearted but EPIC non the less. Watch out for dog carcasses, pot holes that could easily swallow you, and cliff-like drop off with no guard rails. Oh, and did I mention the giant, smoke spewing blue buses that stop seemingly everywhere or anywhere with no notice? Really, it's fun riding down there -- it's also quite amazing how much power you can put out when you life depends on it. Richard La China (lachina)— December 29, 2011 8:42 a.m.
The Rosarito-Ensenada Bike Ride
Woohoo! This ride is epic for sure. I've done it twice now and am super impressed on how organized it is. The route is simply breath taking at points. The Mexican drug cartel and gang violence are no match for 5,000 bicycles heading over 'El Tigre'! Can't wait for 2012! Richard La China (lachina)— December 29, 2011 8:27 a.m.
Critical Crash
It's really too bad, that a riding experience that should be positive has turned into such a disaster. The interesting part is that not all Critical Mass's are like this -- I've ridden CM in London and in Barcelona and had a much safer / positive experience. The three or so times I've ridden CM in San Diego, there have been numerous incidents and accidents. For whatever reason, It's become more of a Critical Mess here in San Diego.
