Ian Anderson 6 p.m., March 7
Looking out from the top of the Old Man of Storr. The mist is rolling-in with a quiet fury.
I hiked to the Old Man with a French woman I met. She asked me as we were going down, "Which do you like better? Going up or down? I smoke so, of course, I like going down."
I laughed and replied, "Well, going up is more difficult, but I like the anticipation of getting there. Going down is easier, but I'm sad to leave."
The mist rolled in and my French lady and I became soaking wet. She began laughing and turned to me and said, "See, the mountain is crying because you are leaving."
I cried too.
