Lemon Grove City Council to Take a Position on SDG&E Solar Rate Hikes
I could be completely off track (and hope someone else will chime in if they know the answer), but I believe the reason the bill went up so much for the LG school district is because the district installed a huge solar array on the field of a few schools which generates enough power for most, if not all the schools. SDGE is charging them a huge amount to use the network to distribute that power over the grid, which seems pretty kinda shady... It puts the LG school district in direct competition with SDGE, doesn't it? As a single family resident if you could produce enough energy to power all your neighbors, or select friends around town then you, too, become competition.— November 18, 2011 11:18 a.m.
Application Denied
You wrote, "Boardmember Nancy Vaughn stressed that the rules for application are clearly stated in the town-council bylaws and that she had notified Gormlie previously." Just to set the record straight, the bylaws were not then, and have not since been made public so a potential candidate may read them. Gormlie was notified by Vaughn the day before the vote that he had been declared ineligible, after they accepted money from him for dues, accepted his letter of intent to run and then sent out the ballot with his name as a candidate.— December 3, 2010 9:14 p.m.
Those Who Work In Bong Shops Should Not Cast Stones 1
JorgeFurioso, Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. There are others of us who share your feelings. I was at the protest in front of the Black that day also, and was one of those who was shouted at, insulted and intimidated. I understand why you kept your thoughts about this to yourself, the scene was so intense that it was weeks before I wanted to step foot on Newport. I am reluctant to bring it up again now because we were accused of making an issue where there wasn't one, but you can't fight hate by ignoring it, only by shining a light on it.— December 3, 2010 8:54 p.m.
