Union-Tribune Lays Off Three Who Spearheaded Electronic News, Radio Efforts
Was a time when bits like this didn't get bruited about. Now it's rare to see them not get exposed. The next step is to start informing people just how much such shenanigans are costing them. Last Oct. we nearly lost all electrical power from outside the county, and surface travel was almost cut off. Think of what could've happened if we'd had real firestorms, instead of what we actually did get. We can make people aware of how much corruption is costing them, you'll see a lot more demand for justice. Also reform in infrastructure construction and maintenance, fewer 'special projects', and crap like that there. There's potential in this new form of pamphleteering, but we need to work on it.— May 8, 2008 9:52 p.m.
Breakfast with a Side of Fun
Helpful Hints You use transit occasionally be sure to get a day pass. Good all day, and costs about $5.00 bucks. Use transit regularly get a monthly pass. After 'bout ten days the pass has paid for itself, and the rest of the month is basically free. Saves you some money for the cheap eats.— April 30, 2008 6:01 p.m.
Hideaway Too Hidden

Does Your Broker Claim the Real Estate Devastation Is Almost Over? Statistics Say It May Be Half Over
Tangential to the topic, but... We wouldn't be in Iraq had Gore gotten elected? Bovine excretia. Al Qaeda attacked America on Sept 11th 2001, not President George W. Bush. Saddam Hussein violated the armistice to get a reaction out of the U. S., not President George W. Bush. Regardless of who was in office on that day the attacks would've gone forward. Regardless of who was in office at the time, we had cause to invade Iraq, for Iraq had committed a number of acts of war against us. Even without 9/11 we'd still be in Iraq, for Iraq's behavior had long ago become intolerable. Republicans understood this. Democrats understood this. Saddam Hussein was pushing for an invasion because he'd long ago become irrational, and was looking to die in a final apocalyptic conflagration. Bush or Gore didn't matter, he wanted to die. Bush's mistake was going with the wrong ad campaign. We had better reasons; refusing to divulge the location of weapon stockpiles, or even that said stockpiles had been destroyed for example. Conspiracy to commit bribery with U. N. officials for another. The very first time an Iraqi radar installation locked on a Coalition aircraft after the armistice was enacted back in 1992 was grounds for the resumption of hostilities. But the first term Bush White House got fixated on WMD and things went on from there. No Bush, no war? Like hell.— April 28, 2008 10:57 p.m.
Does U-T Know $128,000 from $20 Million? Obviously Not

Risky retirements
What enables this sort of behavior? What makes people think this is allowable? Lack of accountability comes to mind, but more so a spineless permissiveness. We've become convinced that telling people that some things are wrong is wrong. Either that, or we won't stand up for ourselves. So we let crap go on and watch as our world deteriorates. We won't like the ultimate outcome.— September 14, 2007 7:05 a.m.
