Dogfight in Encinitas
Why aren't more people standing behind this man? Considering that most of these dogs are only off leash a few hours a day, many haven't taken the time to properly train them. This is an animal that can scare or injure little kids, or annoy picnic-goers relaxing in the grass and sun (me). They come with responsibilities. Just take the dog to a dog park. Then you can assume that your precious pooch isn't bothering anyone. Owners need to remember, not everybody loves your dog as much as you do.— December 24, 2009 6:41 a.m.
Fans Staying Away from Away at the Park
What's wrong with free baseball on a giant screen? Especially if you can pack a picnic and sit outside. I was there this same night. I think it's a great idea for them to offer something like this, trying to bring the community together. Downtown consists of a very diverse group of people, and we should applaud that, not run away from it. The fact that people are worried about 'transients' ruining everyones time is just ridiculous. The night I was there, the homeless guys were enjoying the game and cheering along, paying attention to the screen. Not causing problems. There is security there, and I think if anything, we should encourage people to come out and give it a try.— June 28, 2009 8:19 a.m.
