Ethics are in the eyes of the beholder
The test for ethics is whether or not all parties involved in a transaction is voluntary, or if anyone is cohersed and compelled into some action. If a journalist engages in disinformation to further the state, that itself is not unethical but just a typical op/ed. It would be a market function to have competition debunk the disinformation. You are not an injured party, but the govenment thinks they are because of extortion opportunity cost. Tune in next week when the newspaper plasters soldiers all over the front page as "heros" for fighting for your "freedoms."— August 12, 2012 7:58 a.m.
Disbarred Attorney in Court Again
The extortion charge is hypocritical of the state, since courts, governments extort from people on a daily basis.— August 12, 2012 7:52 a.m.
Three Arrested at Occupy San Diego; SDPD Sgt. "Was Hearing Voices"
It would certainly be the ultimate in civil disobedience if everyone arrested did NOT take the plea, and instead insisted in a trial. This way you flood the court calendar. The possible downside is the government court employees might find this as "job creation." That's a common term Todd Gloria uses. He might be of assistance in that field.— December 31, 2011 1:17 p.m.
