Oceanside Resident Pleas for Assistance From City Council
The average wait for an appeal on a disability claim in San Diego is over 600 days. Claims however routinely are denied and attorneys take 33% of the claim upon successful appeal. I've handled one such case and it seemed ridiculous to me. The client magically was approved just days before going in front of the judge, without much of an explanation while denial maintained mistaken claims, which seemed more like a clerical error than anything else. I have several bankruptcy clients who have waited over a year to receive any benefits. They are losing homes, cars (critical transportation to medical appointments). It's brutal. www.sdbankrupt.com— November 8, 2010 9 a.m.
