I think it's great to cover new and interesting spots in Baja. However, maybe next time actually set aside some money for the travel cost so you don't have to all-but-stiff a cab driver out of his fare so you can spend $20 on food. I wonder if he even made that much all day.

Sad details of Marine wife's last day before her killing

Really wish her whole life didn't always boil down to "marine wife" in every single fricking headline about this case. She was a person of her own, apart from her marriage. She had a name of her own. It's nice that you lead the first paragraph with it, but it's sad to always see her referred to by her marriage in headlines.

I'm just glad to see at least some decent beer options in the UCSD area. For a place that has such a huge concentration of geeks with money to spend, you'd think the area would be crawling with beer places.

Transit plan includes more air pollution

IMHO the real solution to San Diego's growth problem is density, but it requires reconsidering the only two-letter word that we treat like a four letter word: the word UP. San Diego's fetishistic attachment to a 30 foot height limit is a huge problem. It prevents the development of really workable walkable neighborhoods - we just don't have the density in most parts of the city to support the neighborhood businesses that make those neighborhoods work in other cities.
