Afternoons at the Mission

Weekday afternoon is definitely the best time to enjoy the Mission. My favorite part of this place is that they will serve a side of their amazing french toast so you don't have to decide between salty and sweet.

Babycakes' Breakfast

The red velvet pancakes are a cute idea. Looks like they might be a good "share" item, where you get that and an egg/bacon salty dish to share along with it. That tiny little piece of quiche looks scrumptious but naked on that big plate.

If It's Not Illegal, It Should Be: Earthblend Tea & Coffee in Tierrasanta

I found it bizarre and baffling. In response to this post, someone sent me a document about the requirements via twitter. Turns out it's not illegal unless the place has over 20,000 square feet. But, there are also all kinds of rules for having public restrooms, one of which is that the passage to the restroom can't take the public through the food prep area. My guess is that it would have been a hassle and an expense to comply with all the rules. Easier to send folks to the Valero.
