Two U.S. Citizens Shot While Waiting at Border
I am one of those American citizens living in Mexico and I commute in that horrible line everyday. I have met hundreds of people in the same situation, most of whom have small children like I do. Changes in the immigration system following 9/11 has left thousands of families with a choice between being torn apart from each other or living outside the country. While Mexico is not the war zone the media portrays, we dream for the day when the US will value family as much as we do. I drive past the spot where these men were killed everyday. My heart goes out to their families.— April 6, 2011 6:50 a.m.
