The Turks are coming...to a charter school near you - REMOVED PER JH
Now that you mention it, I have noticed some strange activities since my son joined the school this year as a 6th grader. - The principal (white man), vice principal (Turkish man), and Director of Academics (white woman) are very responsive to parent’s questions and suggestions for improvement, with swift implementation when the ideas benefit the students, teachers, families, and the school environment - Teachers are young, energetic, and engage the students in learning with numerous hands-on projects - Teachers are available after-school for free tutoring to ensure students have all the resources needed to be successful - Each teacher is expected to lead an after-school club, with a diverse selection of activities, including archery, leadership, chess, science, and various sports - The curriculum includes academic enrichment classes to support learning in areas such as math (for those who need more assistance **and** those who excel), science, study skills, and computers. This article includes so many mistruths that it’s impossible to recognize the school my son attends with the one depicted by this author (using the term extremely loosely). This is simply pure ignorance, fueled by fear and the desire to disparage charter schools in an effort to protect mediocrity in the status quo public education system.— November 14, 2013 9 p.m.
