Thursday Night Fever at West Coast Tavern
This is a "restaurant review" for god sake. If you have a problem with parking -- tell it to your councilman!— October 12, 2010 10:30 p.m.
Hot Time in Old Town's Cosmopolitan Restaurant and Hotel
Great review -- it put a smile on my face! Now I have a place to take vistors in Old Town. Heck -- now I have some place to eat in Old Town!— September 13, 2010 3:43 p.m.
The Maine Event
Although I have friends who enjoy eating at King's and occassionally I will join them (to be honest, I think they mostly go for the oysters) -- I've never really enjoyed the food much -- and really consider it on the same level as Red Lobster or Outback -- nothing special and not worth the expense or calories.— May 27, 2010 1:58 p.m.
Easy Does It
Bacon stuffed beignets -- well if that isn't incentive enough to get up early on the weekend -- don't know what is!— April 29, 2010 11:13 a.m.
Upside Down in the Crescent City
Whew... if it wasn't for Naomi's reviews -- which I find not only informative but educational -- I would most likely have wasted lots money and time (both of which I value) at some pretty lousy restaurants. If you claim to serve Creole or Cajun cuisine -- then it should be flavorful, spicy and true to tradition. Sadly, one more lousy restaurant to avoid in the Gaslamp.— April 19, 2010 12:23 p.m.
Lucky Jinx
If you are still looking for a New Orleans style restaurant, there's a restaurant in Old Town adjacent to the Whaley House called the New Orleans Creole Cafe. I didn't think it was great -- but I also didn't think it was bad either. I'll probably go back and try a few more items on the menu since the first time I went we were in bit of a rush -- so it was just a quick bite. It's a cute place with some outside seating that features a view of a quaint courtyard and the Whaley House beyond. I would be interested in hearing if anyone else has gone to this restaurant and what they thought about the food.— October 30, 2008 11:30 a.m.
Dixie-Fried
There's a Cajun restaurant in Old Town -- adjacent to the Whaley House -- called the New Orleans Creole Cafe. I didn't think it was great -- but I didn't think it was bad either. I actually want to go back and try a few more things on the menu -- since the first time I went I was in a bit of a time crunch -- so it was quick and we only ordered a couple of things. It's a cute place with some outside seating with a view of a quaint courtyard and the Whaley House beyond. I would be interested in hearing if anyone else has gone to this restaurant and what they thought about the food.— October 13, 2008 9:52 a.m.

Gosh jhutt -- thanks -- I think I will : )— October 1, 2008 4:29 p.m.
The Second Childhood of Suzy Creamcheese
I'm glad you reviewed Maryjane's. I've been thinking about giving it a try -- but maybe now I won't. My favorite diner is the Studio Diner -- which is attached to Stu Segall Productions in Kearny Mesa. Everything I have tried there has been good -- with my favorites being the Samson Steak Sandwhich, Mommy's Meatloaf and the Haddock. It's a fun place with lots of movie/TV memorabilia -- and the best part is that it's open 24 hrs a day.— October 1, 2008 3:29 p.m.
Git Along, Little Bison
I couldn't agree with this review more -- and although I am not as "adventurous" an eater as Naomi or her posse -- I loved everything about this restaurant -- it's decor (cool and comfy), the music (who doesn't love Patsy Cline?) and the food. Along with the steak I ordered (which was done perfectly) -- my friend and I also shared the crab cake (lots of tasty crab, not much filling) and the heirloom tomatoes. I am definitely going back -- and may even try the quail. Quick question -- I have a friend who is coming to town from London -- and he loves Châteaubriand. Is there a restaurant in SD that serves this? I can't recall seeing it anywhere I've eaten -- but then again, I've probably never looked for it either.— July 16, 2008 1:09 p.m.
