neighborhoods/ocean-beach -- Ocean Beach
A beautiful view of "Pedro's Rock" and the Cliffs and houses behind it, as well as all the algae in front of it, in cove #1, that the tides brought in last night and this morning, Nov, 16, 2013. Water respect "Pedro's Rock" and roam all around it. The Cliffs always amaze me. http://www.sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2013/n… http://www.sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2013/n…— November 16, 2013 5:54 p.m.

Today, November 6, 2013, marks the 1st Anniversary of Alan & me living in Ocean Beach. And Oh, Boy! What a wonderful year has it been: new places, new climate, new people, new friends, new Ocean, new cliffs... and the Holler! Alan & I have been very happy in OB even I've been in and out of the hospital twice, but, thanks to the Reader and the generosity of Ms. Drew, a Reader reader, I am recuperating well and doing fine, and enjoying Ocean Beach more than ever. (I only wish the Holler would go back to the front page index... but... C'est la vie). One of the best places Alan & I have found for comfort food or just plain comfort is the Old Townhouse Restaurant, on Newport, where this morning we had breakfast and took this picture with our favorite waitress, Chris, and our favorite helper Alfonso. Thanks to them our year in Ocean Beach has been twice as happy as it would have otherwise been. We thank the Reader and the Reader readers for always being here to share our adventures in the new Wonderland. Please bring the "Holler" back to the opening page index. I thought it had been removed forever, but I e-mailed the "Reader" folks and they told me to look under "Neighborhoods." I did and it took me about 7 to 10 clicks, going back and forth, in over 10 minutes to find it. Why not leave it in the index and we'll get there with ONE click of the mouse!? Please! Peter PS: WOW! I just tried to upload a picture with my post and, Guess what? I couldn't find the place to upload it. Why try to 'improve' something that was working perfectly? Please leave "HOLLER" the way it was.— October 29, 2013 12:51 p.m.

A Big Thank You to the folks at the Reader for posting my comment in the magazine. And a Bigger Thank You to NM Drew from Normal Heights for answering so promptly. Thanks to them I started today with a 1/2 an hour of stationery bike exercise to help me gain my balance and strength on my legs to learn to walk again as I used to before a tumor was removed from my brain last July 24th. Thank You great and generous people; Alan, my husband, & I love you and you are forever in our hearts for your kindness. Today's walk to the Cliffs from Santa Cruz Ave. was, as always, a pleasure and a gorgeous view. http://www.sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2013/s…— September 24, 2013 8:29 p.m.

After my brain surgery last July I am on Rehabilitation/Physical Therapy and I need a stationary bike to exercise myself back to walking. If you live in Ocean Beach of close enough and you have a stationary bike for free or at a very low cost, please contact me here by "Reply," or e-mail me at [email protected] I will really appreciate it. Thank You. http://www.sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2013/s…— September 16, 2013 8:55 p.m.

How come nobody ever mentions the beautiful sculpture in the parking lot at the end of Newport Ave: "King Neptune"? I find it fascinating! http://www.sandiegoreader.com/users/photos/2013/s…— September 16, 2013 6:20 p.m.

Where is "Straight From The Hip" Matt Alice!!!??? I know that was just her nome de plume but Alan & I miss the column tremendously. Can you please find somebody as talented as him/her SOON! Our week is not complete without reading the wonderful and funny information "Matt" found for all of us to get educated and laugh our heads off. If you find him/her, can you please ask him why there are not coconut palms in San Diego?— September 12, 2013 8:08 p.m.
