Love Factory
This is a beautiful collection all based on the central, universal theme of "Love." Having won San Diego Music Awards the last two years in a row and nominated for the last three, The Grams (Chuck Schiele, Craig Yerkes, Elise Ohki, Tony Sandoval and Bill Coomes) prove exactly why they've won and why they're considered one of San Diego's finest bands with the release of "Love Factory." Stellar musicianship and terrific songwriting combine to produce 9 tracks that will move you in a variety of ways. There's no sophomore jinx here - The Grams self titled debut album in 2006 was appropriately well received and the band shows a maturity and a leap forward with 2008's release. With musical influences that span the globe, The Grams embrace, expand and eschew the Americana mantle that they're given. Recorded and produced by Schiele in his own StudiOB, the recording has a lush quality that's multi layered and multi faceted yet never excessive. Schiele creates room for each virtuoso to shine without losing the main thrust of the song. Mostly acoustic with a full rhythm section and a violin that dances through the material with bold vocal harmonies this is a body of work that you'll enjoy more with each spin. The Grams official CD Release concert will be at Anthology San Diego on April 16th at 7:30PM Sharp. All ages welcome. Tickets $8.— April 10, 2008 9:47 p.m.
