Russian Statue vs. Denver Bear
My my you have quite the way with words ;0 I can see this turning into a modern day fable with bold colorful pages and a Caldecott Medal! Moral of the story: Keep the Wild Wild. Something that is easy to forgetin this day and age as we tend to personify the animals around us since they're so cute and furry and squishy. Book II might be a lesson against having such animals as acual pets - the horrible chimpanzee massacre from earlier this year!— August 14, 2009 11:46 a.m.
Who's Bad -- Not this Michael Jackson Tribute Band
Good to know! I had wanted to make it to Who's Bad but couldn't. I think that if a tribute band is good enough and the band they are tributing to is big enough then it may still be silly but silly is entertaining right?! Take Depeche Mode, not all of us were lucky enough to score tix to their August Cricket gig. But I deed see Blasphemous Rumours recently at House of Blues and they were a sleeper surprise. I was at that concert to see "The Cured" but Blasphemous Rumours stole the show by far. They sound and act just like Depeche Mode but more over-the-top, hamming it up, 80's style for the crowd. Hilarious as well as talented. It was a crazy and fun night, like seeing a comedy routine while enjoying music you love. So while I would "almost but not quite" pay $80.00 or more for Depeche Mode I would check out Blasphemous Rumours again. Let's face it, when we go to cover bands we don't want carbon copies. Watching the spin they put on the original act is of the part of the entertainment and part of the art.— August 10, 2009 3:45 p.m.

Movie Pet Peeves
I don't watch all that many movies but from the ones I do watch, I hate it when there's a meal scene and the actors aren't really eating. Actually usually it's only the women that aren't doing much more than taking little fake nibbles. It just looks so posed. Heaven forbid an actress ingest an actual carb while filming, even in the name of art!!!— August 5, 2009 2:46 p.m.
