DannieMarie
Dannie Marie is a Cali girl with a country soul. With two radio singles, multiple radio tours, and a new music video under her belt, Dannie Marie is an indie artist who is kicking up some dust working D-I-Y style in the music industry. Influenced by artists and bands such as Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, and Florida Georgia Line, Dannie Marie’s music can be described as “bro country with a dose of estrogen.”
Dannie Marie grew up with the notion that country music was “boring and for old people.” But that all changed when, at the age of 13, she reluctantly attended her first country music concert. That night she watched a new American Idol winner named Carrie Underwood sing Jesus Take the Wheel. Drawn in and mesmerized by Underwood’s performance and the crowd’s reaction, Dannie knew at that moment she wanted to do exactly what Underwood was doing … changing the world through God and country music.
Music is a family affair for Dannie Marie; her younger brother Nick accompanies her on acoustic guitar or banjo on radio tours and at live shows. They played their biggest show to date last year at one of America's most popular country music festivals -- Country Thunder -- on the same stage where Chris Janson (Buy Me A Boat) got his start a few years prior. After playing as an acoustic act for the past couple years, Dannie Marie’s live show just got louder and livelier with the addition of several new band members on lead guitar, bass, and drums.
Dannie Marie’s CD of 9 original songs (recorded in Nashville with some of Music City’s top touring and studio musicians) is available on her website and at live shows, with digital distribution slated for Spring 2017. The first two tracks, Anything I Wanna Be and Countin’ Down Summertime were released to country radio as singles. Dannie Marie toured 12 states and performed in conference rooms and on-air at 40+ radio stations from California to Tennessee to promote her songs and get reported on the Music Row Chart. The official music video for Countin’ Down Summertime was released last summer and had its film festival World Premiere at San Diego Film Week in February 2017.
In 2015, Dannie Marie won the local round of the 34th annual Country Showdown at the Colorado River Fair in Blythe, CA and advanced to the state round, where she performed for 1,000 country music fans.
In 2013, Dannie moved from San Diego to LA, where she appeared in music videos, commercials, TV shows and several movies. You may recognize her as the blonde backup singer in Itch’s official music video for Another Man, a song that went platinum in Australia. She moved back to her hometown in the fall of 2014 to play at local venues and prepare for the release of her music and radio promo tours.
Just after graduating from high school in 2010 -- with her motto “rock stars don’t go to college” -- Dannie spent two years as the lead singer in The Dannie Marie Band. The band released a 3-song EP in 2010; got placement in a feature film for one of their original songs; and received recognition for their Flavor of the Week music video at film festivals (including a Golden Reel Award for Best Music Video at the Nevada Film Festival).
As she works hard to make her mark as a country artist, Dannie Marie enjoys using her platform to encourage girls to follow their dreams, believe in themselves, and make positive life choices.
