Artistic underworld
Nice one, Pike! Diggin' the band descriptions, especially: "Smart, high-intensity music with the rightful anger of the 1980s draped over it like a worn flannel shirt patched with millennial irreverence." The last photo is my buddy Hugo Fierro (aka Moistrix), who curated the art end of the affair.— February 27, 2013 6:46 p.m.

Long Lines at San Ysidro Border Crossing
Spent a good three and a half hours on foot the other day waiting to cross beneath Dr. Carlos Buenrostro's cartoon alien grin.— December 17, 2012 7:19 p.m.
The Press Box
Slothy - Have another read. The "diamond studded anus of the New World" refers to Rancho San Diego itself, not the Press Box. If you'd like to defend the remarkable culture void that is RSD, be my guest, but in a place so overrun with tract housing and franchise junk food, the Press Room really is the only thing that stands out as worth doing (its a tie with discount beer at Da Boyz and lunch at Spinners or Las Parillas).— December 11, 2012 3:19 p.m.

Fixed 'em up. Thx!— December 3, 2012 2:31 a.m.
Small beer big in TJ
Good find, Ed! Visited this place a while back on a Turista Libre outing and was absolutely blown away.— November 30, 2012 1:23 p.m.
One quick trip to the mall later...
You nailed it, Pike. Hilarious.— November 20, 2012 12:50 p.m.
