It takes a Village card room…
I did and read them and the one I thought where it should be was updated in June. I'll read through them again.— November 2, 2014 5:25 p.m.
It takes a Village card room…
Where are these by-laws. I was looking for them as I still can't understand how these former board can even run if it's againd sweetwaters by-laws so I decided to look them up and could not find it. The one i found was updated June 2014.— November 2, 2014 4:40 p.m.
McCann's plan a sham?
Please take a look at The Star News. McCann claims he couldn't fire Gandara because he was relatively new to the board and wasn't fully aware of Gandara lack of ethics. Are you kidding me? Wasn't he in his 7 or 8 months when this happen and wasn't McCann board president?? Oh let's not forget the second recommendation was the board could have fired Gandara. Oh wait for withheld that info.— October 18, 2014 6:05 p.m.
Sweetwater board candidate stumps on civility
What is so confusing to me? Is that isn’t against Sweetwater’s by-laws to allow Jim Cartmill and Bertha Lopez back on the board? I am sure I heard about it or read it in the papers that if a Board member was convicted while on the board they could not longer serve. So if that is the case why is the district not speaking up? If they win and then the district was to say something WE that tax payers would be the one to suffer with another election. While I pray that the community as woken up from the dead and will vote in new fresh faces there is always that name recognition that voters see when there are so many candidates. I hope so see commercials in the next few weeks showing the county of San Diego that there are two convicted candidates trying to get on the board again. Do we really need this? NO!!— October 13, 2014 8:20 a.m.
Sweetwater cash cow improperly milked
I don't understand why school principals didn't wake up and follow in San Ysidro High footstep. I remember when school was being built Hector Esponoza pitched a fit that district would take money from school for cell tower revenue I believe he started a scholarship find with the revenues. Wonder if that is still in place. I don't remember the details just hearing he wouldn't go for it.— September 4, 2014 6:29 p.m.
Who’s minding the jewels?
I believe if there are too many running, the candidates are going to have to be willing to pull themselves out of the race. This is exactly how Pearl and Bertha got voted back in. Eastlake people, please **WAKE UP!!** Stop believing the lies he tells!! He let the corruption go on and on all these years. He is the one that if there was any type of event where food was served (like the secretary dinner) he was freaking bring his whole family so they could enjoy a free dinner on our dime. Don’t forget he was always the first one to get new toys. He totally abused his position when he was on the board.— July 14, 2014 2:58 p.m.
Who’s minding the jewels?
Cartmill is such a scumbag and thinks he is above everyone else. I hope he runs and whoever runs against him reminds the people that he has pleaded guilty to corruption! Maybe that is what it will take is for flyers and phone calls and walking the neighborhood to remind the people that this man has broken our trust. Stolen and lied for his benefits not the kids of the district. I cannot believe the people in Eastlake still talk to him and that he tries to come across as a pastor. What a joke.— July 14, 2014 9:02 a.m.
Gandara to go on 60-day lobster fast
Finally some justice. This man ruined my friends lively hood because she didn't do what he wanted. Cartmill will run in the fall because he has no shame! There is an article In the Star News that Bertha Lopez is trying to get her suspended seat back! Don't theses people have any shame?? While she may have ended up doing what was best for the kids it is time for the district to heal and move forward and that means a clean sweep and new blood on the board and a new superintendent. Eastlake people wake up and stop letting Cartmill fool you. He is a slime ball!!! We need to follow the District by-laws and doesn't the state have a rule if convicted of any crime out of public office? If we don't keep these slimes out of office then what lesson was learned?— June 28, 2014 12:08 p.m.
South Bay politiscape on election day
What right does she have to override State law and the District's by-laws. I thought if you were a felon you could never run for office again? I am so confused and he needs to step down now and if hopefully not, he runs in November, it will not be as an incumbent. But a criminal. I just hope people have been paying attention. Gosh…..— June 4, 2014 3:33 p.m.
South Bay politiscape on election day
So does he step down from his post at Sweetwater today?— June 4, 2014 1:55 p.m.
