No. 5 Torrey Pines holds Hudson to beat No. 9 Escondido
25 points in the first and 11 from Hudson. 6 points in the second and none from Hudson. Escondido scores in proportion with him, which reveals a lack of balance in the offense and a major reason for the loss.— February 17, 2010 10:58 p.m.
Compton Centennial sends No. 1 Hoover back to state drawing board
Very interesting. There's a NBC affiliate channel in Spokane, Washington called SWX devoted to local sports and several of their highlight packages are of lower quality than this, too shaky and with a poor concept of zoom. You've got an eye for framing live sports shots, keep it up.— February 17, 2010 10:46 p.m.
Mount Miguel beats Santana to climb closer to league crown
Santana needed to find a way to come out of the gates and out of the halftime break much stronger to win this game. Scoring 16 points in the 16 minutes when momentum is up for grabs will simply not cut it. What was the reason for this scoring discrepancy?— February 17, 2010 1:04 a.m.
No. 6 Christian beats Kearny to extend win streak to 20
Thank you for clarifying that Christian has players from different nationalities. When the names initially appeared in the article I was wondering where they might be from, given the non-traditional American names. Also a very nice picture selection. It's a good action shot and Parisotto sports number 20, same as the number of games in the winning streak.— February 17, 2010 12:56 a.m.
Grossmont slows down Granite Hills to clinch share of league title
It's very rare to have four players with at least 20 points at the high school level and even higher levels of basketball. This game is also a good example of how one team is clearly better despite a seemingly close contest through three quarters. A wise man once told me "Champions Finish." Grossmont finished strong, and they deserve the league championship.— February 17, 2010 12:48 a.m.
Compton Centennial sends No. 1 Hoover back to state drawing board
Tough break for Hoover, San Diego basketball teams are going to have to play a near-perfect game to take out the top teams from up north. Also there is some nice camera work on the highlight reel with respect to steadiness and secondary movement. What type of camera are you using?— February 15, 2010 6:24 p.m.
No. 7 Eastlake tightens grip with win at Hilltop
Impressive effort from Eastlake. Playing well with the lead is an underrated quality. Several teams and players might slow down the pace and get comfortable at that point but they did not. That's solid, fundamental basketball.— February 6, 2010 8:24 p.m.
Ingram stays on point for Hoover
True point guard is the most difficult title to achieve in basketball. It's very unusual to see a natural with only a few years of experience at the position.— February 4, 2010 5:46 p.m.
Francis Parker ends futility with narrow win over No. 10 Bishop’s
It was nice to have the score by quarter for this game. Definitely a tangible way to see the momentum changes.— February 4, 2010 5:44 p.m.
El Camino upends No. 9 Poway to stay perfect in league
El Camino is "The U" of North County basketball, no matter who is playing or coaching on that team they have a unique swagger about themselves. It's probably one of the reasons they upset Etiwanda last year.— February 4, 2010 3:55 p.m.
