Chargers Stadium, Affordable or Not
there's an idea. Institute a "team tax" of something like 30% of the gross on professional sports teams, and that will encourage them to leave. Of course, earmark the tax for a special fund to be used only for non-pro sports for the children. Let Pro teams fund the school sports programs, after all who skims the cream?— September 15, 2012 9:15 a.m.
Chargers Stadium, Affordable or Not
Once again I advocate a separation of State and Sport. Let the teams solicit donations from individuals and corporation, and pay their own way. No pubilc money for private enterprises!— September 13, 2012 12:12 p.m.
Wind Power for Cars; the Disempowerment of Drivers with Blinding Lights
Blue lights are the wrong spectrum for seeing well. Those who buy them are as ignorant as they are annoying.— September 13, 2012 12:09 p.m.
Catfish, Tulsa, Nazis, Jefferson — Civility

Build a Stadium and Team Will Stay? Nope
Mr. Bauder, use it often and well.— May 9, 2012 1:42 p.m.
Build a Stadium and Team Will Stay? Nope
Pro sports are a tool used to distract the public from what the politicians are doing. Let's have a separation of sport and State. Let the teams build their own stadiums, and charge them a royalty to play here.— May 5, 2012 6:17 p.m.
Coaster Train-Car Wraps Are a Train Wreck
I would simply refuse to ride in a car with the ads, and suggest the same to other riders. I remember a Police statement that one of problems during the "McDonalds Massacre" of 1984 was that due to heavy advertising on the windows, snipers could not get a shot at Huberty, so he kept killing people. I will not go into a restaurant that has ads that obscure my view of the outside primarily because i like to see what is going on around me. These ads, and those on the train are a sneaky way to avoid the rules of the local sign commission, a hazard to public safety, and annoying. I vote with my feet.— February 26, 2012 10 a.m.
Why Women Scream
That blink response has saved my eyes from debris on many occasions, so stop screaming, already! Weathermen will report anything unusual, as they need something to do besides block your view of the incoming weather systems. What"s with their sick fascination/compulsion with "records"?— June 2, 2011 8:56 a.m.
The Chirp of Birds, the Buzz of Bikes From the Pala Raceway
yes, they ARE earning a living, but they produce nothing. They create nothing, and therefore contribute nothing to society. They are living off the earnings of others, just like welfare. Seriously, how can they earn self-esteem if they won't earn respect?.— May 26, 2011 8:01 p.m.
The Chirp of Birds, the Buzz of Bikes From the Pala Raceway
Easy solution. take away "Soveriegn Nation" status and close the casinos. Make them earn a living like the rest of us, instead of being leaches upon society.— May 25, 2011 1:39 p.m.
