Swamis Cafe is certainly an interesting place to get breakfast. To me walking up to order in the tiny little building feels like I'm somehow part of an older vibe that has been slowly waning in the North County area. The simplest way I could try and describe it with a single word, would be "character". The place, to me, reeks of character. Not only that, but they have a really fun menu. My favorite is their Acai bowl, featuring acai from the great Sambazon company, granola, berries, banana, coconut, and the unexpected but always entertaining to show people: bee pollen. That's right, bee pollen, and it's delicious. I've also had a number of other things on the menu, the Black Bean & Avocado burrito is insanely simple, yet it still tastes great. My only issue with the place has been if you order food as a group, things come out of the kitchen when they're done. They don't bring out a big tray of food for everyone, and it threw some friends and I off the first time we went. I see people complaining, but the staff is friendly, and if you ask about your order in a nice manner, you'll get a nice response. Common sense, but from what I've seen there and at other restaraunts, not very common... Regardless, it's my favorite breakfast place in Encinitas, highly recommended!

Great Food, but the absolute worst service on the planet. Be prepared to wait a long time, and for the staff to treat you like dirt. My last visit there, I phoned in an order and was told my order would be ready in about 10 to 15 minutes for pickup. I arrived in 20 minutes knowing that they would take longer than they told me. I paid for my lunch and then had to wait an additional 30 minutes to get my food. As I stood there I was subjected to some aggro bald employees ultra conservative political banter. When I go out to pick up my lunch, I don't care to listen to misinformed statements from someone that was calling customers "liberal jerks" behind their backs. The lack of customer service from the other employees and this employee in particular absolutely ruin the great potential that could be Swami's Cafe.
