"Santa Sophia" (Hagia Sophia, in Greek) means "holy wisdom." The church, dedicated in 1958 at the foot of Mount Helix in Casa de Oro ("house of gold"), is renowned for its tapering bell tower, egg-shaped church structure, and 36-foot-tall indoor wooden crucifix, the largest in North America.
