Beatles Show: All You Need Is Love, Art, and Artifacts
Kensington Gallery is proud to announce its fourth Beatles show with Beatles-related art by San Diego artists as well as art images from Sir Paul McCartney (two limited edition prints from an art show in Germany), John Lennon, and Stuart Sutcliffe (original Beatle member/professional artist).
The Beatles' legacy will be divided into several categories including:
-- The Very Early Years: childhood and teen years
-- Liverpool and Hamburg concerts: where they learned their trade by playing nearly 300 shows
-- Beatles 1964: 50 years ago!
-- Their seminal record albums: Revolver, Abbey Road, Sgt. Pepper
-- A tribute to their big screen movies: A Hard Day's Night, Help!, Yellow Submarine
-- When the Beatles met Elvis Presley
-- And trivia surrounding the "Paul is dead" rumors and innuendos (you'll walk away scratching your head after you read the facts)
Similar to our previous Beatles shows, many authentic artifacts will be on display including:
-- an actual brick from the original Cavern Club in Liverpool
-- a piece of wood from the Star Club stage in Hamburg, Germany
-- Beatle bedding: slept-on pieces of sheets from a hotel
-- air captured from John's and Paul's childhood homes in Liverpool
-- rarely seen photos of the Beatles
Exhibit runs Saturday, November 8 to Saturday, November 29.
