"Trash" features work by 12 artists from around globe, focusing on "the kid-friendly and timely topic of trash." The participating artists have "engaged trash as materials or issues for many reasons, including concern about the environment, the aesthetic appeal of the materials, and trash as a source of cheap and readily available materials."
In preparation for a new art and food-focused exhibition opening in fall 2013, guests can visit the “Test Kitchen” to catch a peek at some of the developing artwork that will later be showcased.
Dare to Reuse Student Art Exhibition, an installation of artwork created by students from San Diego City schools in grades 4 through 12 who participated in the City of San Diego's Environmental Services Department's Dare to Reuse Art Contest. On view through August 26, 2013.
Open until 6pm on the 4th Saturday of every month. Admission is free on the 2nd Sunday of each month, thanks to Target.
