The family that ran this place since 1965 almost ran it into the ground. A new owner came in about 3 years ago and has really turned this place around. Non-Bestawan locals used to call it "Best of Barf.", but not any more. Now known as "Summers at Bestawan", an incredible menu, burgers, pasta, salads, and much more - usually a large crowd every night. Nothing cooler than sitting on the deck on a beautiful summer night (nice dogs welcomed), or by the fireplace on a cool winter night. Now that thin crust, east coast style pizza is hip, its become a favorite again, with the original Bestawan pizza recipe, adding back the quality that had been lacking for years, flaky thin crust, spicy tomato sauce, with most toppings baked under the cheese.

Long story short, 90 minutes after ordering a bbq chicken pizza, I was told by the owner's sister that I should be smiling that I'm getting a free pizza, and that I should thank God that I'm alive to eat my free pizza because 5 people died in Iraq today.
She was the most rude person I've ever met. Anyone that can associate death with her lack of management and people skills has some serious problems.
I will never go back, nor will I ever recommend this place to anyone.

stantlin's negative experience was probably one of those may times that Bestawan's popularity far outstripped its ability to serve. Unfortunately over the last 10 years I've gone from being the only one in the restaurant to the oldest in the restaurant. The place is extremely popular with 25-30 somethings and gets overcrowded, everyone wanting to have good food and a good time.
