Is this spider looking at me? The underbelly of this huge colorful spider appears to be a skull face. Does anybody know what kind of spider it is and if it's poisonous?

That's an argiope -- a garden spider. Totally harmless (& totally cool!). Their calling card is the zig-zag seam in their web.

I used to see hundreds of these beautiful spiders in Ocean Beach during spring time.
