Purple Spring Crocuses / Croci near the Museum of Armaments in Poznan (Citadel Park on the Winiary Hill, north of the city centre, between the Old City and Winogrady Housing Estate). Small spring-flowering plants of the iris family with grass-like leaves (Crocus vernus) grow on the lawn near the 1870 ammunition-bunker undamaged during the Citadel liberation in 1945. Historic cemeteries are close by (south-western edge of the park). There is some lovely walking around the large park on the site of former 19th-century Fort Winiary.
