The Gothic Statue of Jesus the Man of Sorrows in the Chapel of Jesuit Martyrs (Basilica Minor, the St. Stanislaus the Bishop and the Martyr Church, Mother of God of Perpetual Help and St. Mary Magdalene Sanctuary, Collegiate Parish Church / Fara of Poznan). The Jesus posture, in a standing attitude of body, is rare in Gothic imagination. The statue originated from the former Collegiate church (memorial to the Martyrs of the Society of Jesus) is presented against a background of an image of three missionaries tortured to death in Japan.
