The Our Lady of the Gate of Dawn Chapel in the St. Joseph Church in Poznan (Saint Adalbert Hill). In 1671 Discalced Carmelites from the St. Theresa Church in Vilnius built a chapel in the Gate of Dawn (part of the city fortifications) to house the Madonna holy icon, well known for miraculous events. One chapel under the patronage (patrocinium) of Our Lady of the Gate of Dawn (Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of Mercy) is located on the right of the high altar in the St. Joseph’s in Poznan. The unique side-altar in the chapel was built out of the fireplace elements derived from the former imperial palace.
