The Art of Medieval Swordsmanship within the Framework of the 4th Franciscan Fair: Some Cultural Events Seen on September 11, 2010. A street scene was located in the Old Market (western side) in Poznan, the first capital of Poland. The knight was one of three types of fighting men during the Middle Ages: Knights, Foot Soldiers, and Archers. The first documented manual on the use of different swords and fighting techniques was written in Germany in the 13th century.
